Mushroom Bacon Burger

Serves eight (8) burgers


  • Six (6) slices of bacon, chopped 
  • Eight (8) oz portabella mushrooms, chopped
  • Four (4) cloves of garlic, minced
  • Two (2) lbs. hamburger meat 
  • One (1) egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • One (1) tbsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup bbq sauce


  • In a large pot, on medium high heat, cook bacon and set aside.
  • Add mushrooms and garlic to the remaining bacon grease.  Cook and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix hamburger meat, cooked mushrooms, garlic & bacon, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, worcestershire sauce and bbq sauce.
  • Make into patties and place in smoker or grill.
  • Approx. 3 minutes, prior to reaching your desired doneness, glaze with your favorite bbq sauce.
  • Pull and rest for at least 5 minutes.
  • Add patty to a brioche bun along with your favorite toppings.
