Creamy Hummus

 Hummus Ingedients:

  • 1 1/2 cups of canned chickpeas (also called garbanzo beans)
  • Two (2) garlic cloves 
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • One (1) small lemon (or 2 tbsp)
  • Olive oil, to garnish
  • Smoked paprika, to garnish
  • Parsley, to garnish


    • Open a can of chickpeas and pour both the chickpeas and juices in a bowl.  Pull off the husk of each chickpea.  Keep the juice handy. 
    • Dump your unhusked chickpeas, garlic cloves, tahini, salt, cumin and lemon juice in a food processor.  While blending add olive oil and some of the remaining chickpea juices until you reach your desired consistency.  (I like it super creamy)
    • Place in a serving bowl.  Run the tip of a spoon on top of the hummus in a spiral motion.  Drizzle olive oil into the spiraled area and garnish with smoked paprika and chopped parsley.
