Chili Cheese Dog

Serves four (4) ppl


  • Four (4) Hebrew Beef Hot Dogs 2X
  • One (1) tbsp. olive oil
  • One (1) lb. ground beef
  • ½ cup white onion, chopped
  • Two (2) garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 8oz can tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • Dash of liquid smoke
  • One (1) tbsp. chili powder
  • One (1) tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • One (1) tbsp. mustard
  • ¼ tsp. onion powder
  • ¼ tsp. garlic powder
  • Four (4) Martin’s Hoagie Rolls
  • Sharp cheddar cheese, to garnish
  • White onion, to garnish


  • Put olive oil in a medium-high heated cast iron skillet.
  • Place ground beef in skillet and cook until brown. Place on a plate and set aside.
  • Line the same skillet with olive oil and cook your onions. Add a pinch of salt and pepper. 
  • Once they become translucent, add garlic and your previously cooked beef.
  • Add tomato sauce, water, liquid smoke, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, onion powder and garlic powder. Let simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Spiral your hot dogs with a paring knife and place on grill.
  • Turn hotdogs until you achieve grill marks on all sides.
  • Place hotdog in a hoagie roll. Top with chili, onions and cheddar cheese.
